Torres Novas

The town of Torres Novas is a 10-minute drive away. This town has many restaurants, terraces and 7 large supermarkets. There is a large park 'Jardim das Rosas' and a pleasant square 'Praça 5 de Outubro'. The castle is located at the square. Once a year these locations are transformed into a 4-day medieval spectacle. The festival is called 'Feira de Época' and is held in June.

During the festival there is plenty to do and experience, theater, knight fights, bird of prey shows, good food & drinks, lots of live music and people dressed in medieval style.

In and around Torres Novas there are several nice things to visit such as the caves of Mira de Aire or the footprints of a dinosaur. You can visit the Carlos Reis museum or see the ruins of a Roman villa. At the mills 'Moinhos da Pena' on top of a mountain, you have a beautiful view over the landscape.
