Torres Novas

The town of Torres Novas is a 10-minute drive away. This town has many restaurants and terraces. There is a large park 'Jardim das Rosas' and a pleasant square 'Praça 5 de Outubro'. The castle is located near the square. Once a year, these locations are transformed into a 4-day medieval spectacle. The festival is called 'Feira de Época' and is held in June.

There is plenty to do and experience during the festival, including theatre, knight fights, birds of prey shows, good food & drinks, lots of live music and people dressed up in medieval style.

In and around Torres Novas there are several fun things to visit such as the Lapas caves or the footprints of a dinosaur. You can visit the Carlos Reis municipal museum or view the ruins of a Roman villa. At the mills 'Moinhos da Pena' on top of a mountain, you have a beautiful view of the landscape. The people at the tourist office in the center are happy to help you and speak good English. They can tell you a lot of nice things about Torres Novas and the surrounding area.
